2000- the Future of Security

2001 ASSA launches the ASSA CLIQ, a technological platform for intelligent cylinders – the first joint development project in ASSA ABLOY. A CLIQ lock can have very advanced features.

In the same year, ASSA ABLOY participates in the Volvo Ocean Race, dramatically increasing awareness of the company among millions worldwide.

2003 The ASSA Evolution is launched to replace the lock housings in the modular series. The following year, the company acquires TT-system (now called ASSA Key Solutions), manufacturers of cabinets for key management and medicine storage.

2005 ASSA AB, Solid AB and Timelox AB merge their marketing divisions to offer custom solutions under the motto: “Everything from hinges to access systems”. A new project division is formed.

2006 ASSA AB celebrates its 125th anniversary with many activities. A completely new mechanical lock platform, ASSA dp, is launched the same year and Solid AB is made a business unit of ASSA AB.

Great advancements in electronics are a common theme in the first decade of the new century. Today we also have electronic locks for home environments; for example, the remote-controlled ASSA 3000 front door lock and the Code Handle lock for windows and balcony doors. We will definitely be seeing more of the electronic trend in future locks.
