ARX – The security consultant's choice

The security consultants at Sweco help customers find the best security solution right from the beginning – they use the ARX access control system at their own head office.

They use ARX at Sweco House in Stockholm, just as they do at many Sweco offices around the country. Right now there is a project under way to connect all of the company’s offices to the passage server in Marieberg.
“I think we should just have one card a Sweco Card. If I am authorized for entry in Luleå, Östersund or Malmö, I should be able to use the same card. Authorization in the database should allow access everywhere within Sweco,” says Göran Karloja, Security Consultant at that company.

Integration – the advantage

Why did Sweco choose ARX? One important factor was that the old access control system structure was similar to ARX, so it was easy to replace the card readers, control panels and servers and get a new system up and running at reasonable cost.
The alarm system was also upgraded with Galaxy burglar alarms.
“We were able to keep all of our alarm points. We considered Galaxy’s integration into ARX to be an additional advantage.”

Own access cards

Furthermore, the Bosch camera system could be integrated into ARX for processing via Noctu presentation software.
“We have also integrated the Visit visitor system and we are planning to introduce our own access cards. There is a module available for this in ARX.”

Testing new features

New ARX features have also been tested at Sweco House in collaboration with ASSA’s R&D department.
“We sometimes run beta versions here to see how a feature will function practically. Hopefully our collaboration will also help other customers in the future.”
