Addion stops bacteria at Odlaren preschool
The spread of bacteria at Odlaren preschool in Eskilstuna has been reduced with the help of Addion – the ASSA door handle with antibacterial surface treatment.
An artificial turf soccer field, several different slides, an adventure area in the woods – the newly built Odlaren preschool was designed around the needs of children and has high health and environmental standards. Addion door handles from ASSA were the natural choice.
“Addion was a great idea,” says Lars Almstedt at AQ Arkitekter. “As architects we felt that Addion was something we absolutely must have at the preschool.”
“Hands and clothes are common disease carriers and studies have shown that bacteria are often spread via surfaces that people touch frequently. Door handles are a typical example,” says Anders Birgersson, Product Manager for handles and fittings at ASSA.
Addion – which was developed by ASSA in collaboration with Polygiene AB – is a unique metallic surface treatment with antibacterial characteristics. Tests show that Addion contributes to faster decomposition of bacteria and microorganisms compared with other surface treatments.
Addion is also highly durable in comparison with other antibacterial surfaces such as powder coatings, whose surfaces are worn successively away. Addion is especially well-suited to health care environments, schools and preschools.
